About the Pastor

Pastor G. C. Yancey has been, for many years, a fervent ambassador of Jesus Christ teaching and preaching the Gospel of Christ in both sacred and secular settings.  In addition to calling souls to salvation through the great work of redemption wrought by Jesus Christ on Calvary, Pastor Gil is passionate about preaching the Lord’s doctrines of personal holiness towards God(Matt 5:48, St John 8:11) and practical Christianity towards our fellowman (Luke 10:37, John 13:14-17).

Pastor Gil’s roles in Biblical and Gospel teaching and preaching include Sabbath School Superintendent for Temple Eternal in Tidewater, VA; ordained Elder in Temple Eternal; led church planting of Christ Foundation Mission Ministry in Oxon Hill, Md; served as Associate Pastor at House of God Christ Foundation in Suitland, Md;  and now Senior Pastor at Christ Foundation Church(CFC) in Waldorf, Maryland.

A major ministry of Christ Foundation Church is Home for Christ Foundation (HFCF).  HFCF continues the legacy of Pastor C. D. Yancey, Sr., (Pastor Gil’s father) and serves as one of the channels through which members of CFC perform practical Christianity.  This practical service to our community includes a Food pantry, temporary shelter for homeless, ID ministry for homeless and the recently incarcerated, coaching for those in employment transition, pastoral counseling, and more.

Many know Pastor G. C. Yancey for his many years of work in the Washington area as a business executive in the private and higher education sectors.  He was Executive Director of the George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) Career Development Department launching hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students into internships and post graduate careers; served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Lee Hecht Harrison (world's largest career management firm) providing career management, leadership development, and executive coaching services to organizations and individuals; chaired a committee for the Greater Washington Board of Trade designed to create a Public/Private partnership between the Federal and Private sectors to ease the transition of government employees from the public to the private sector; served as Director of Human Resources for Bell Atlantic Corporation (now Verizon); served on the board of directors for the National Kidney Foundation, NCA for twelve years, and on the board of directors for the D.C. Children’s Trust Fund; taught young people for First Lady, Michelle Obama, in her White House Leadership and Mentoring Initiative.

Pastor Gil has been married to wife, Katrina for approximately 44 years and has two wonderful children, Elder Ahnwar Yancey (wife Kameela Yancey) and Mrs. Keturah Fields (husband Trey Fields), all steeped in Christ.  Hallelujah!!!
